Photomedia Montage, 100cm x 100cm, 2017.

Time was created as a result of being invited onto First Nations women's sacred land on Ugarapul country by the local Aunties.  My experience of being on sacred land was both deeply calming and overwhelming.  There was something primordial about being barefoot on such important ground and yet, I also felt a profound sense of anguish at the actions of my forebears as a white Australian.  This work was shown in The Spirit of Things exhibition at Boonah Regional Art Gallery, September-November 2017.

I acknowledge and pay my upmost respect to the traditional owners of the land on which I work, the Turrbal and Jagera peoples. I also acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the true owners and caretakers of this Country and honour their immense and enduring contribution to the visual arts—as they are the first artists of this nation. I pay my respects to Elders past and present.
