Reckoning, installation view, vinyl and mirror, 80cm each, Somerset Regional Art Gallery, 2018
These work were created as part of a group exhibition where the artists were asked to respond to the Somerset Region in Queensland. As outsiders to the region, we were invited to identify unique elements of the community through the lens of our own practice. My response was in acknowledgement of Toogoolawah being one of the first towns in Australia to erect a war memorial in memory of the sacrifice made by their people. The works were created using experimental photographic processes on war footage and seek to remind us ‘lest we forget’. The works were shown at Somerset Regional Art Gallery in 2018.
